Kanye's Nike Red October Sneakers Go on Sale, Sell Out Immediately

One eBay auction is now at $16.4 million

Nike threw sneakerheads for a loop by posting Kanye West's fabled red Air Yeezy 2 sneakers—the Red Octobers—on nikestore.com yesterday without any warning. Still, despite the surprise, they sold out within minutes. The Air Yeezy eBay takeover, of course, is now in full swing: one UK-based auction has a pair at £10 million (or $16.4 million). You can find a pairat the much more reasonable "Buy It Now" price of $10,000, however.
Auction prices will probably go absurdly high, given the history of Air Yeezy sales and the possibility that this is Kanye's final collaboration with Nike. He cut ties with the brand during an interview with Hot 97 last year and announced a deal with Adidas.

Armadale Vodka Rally with the Reignman

On the cusp of the Seattle City Council’s final vote for the new SODO arena, basketball fans from around the Northwest joined Sonics greats Shawn “The Reign Man” Kemp & Slick Watts, ‘Sonicsgate’ filmmakers Jason Reid and Adam Brown and arena investor Chris Hansen at Kemp’s restaurant, Oskar’s Kitchen in Queen Anne, for a pre-vote rally to show their support for the NBA’s return to Seattle. This Year Armadale joined Kemp as we supported the cause in efforts to bring back a NBA team to Seattle.

DMX vs George Zimmerman: Should this fight happen?

It’s happening: DMX is set to fight child-murderer George Zimmerman in a celebrity boxing match, according to TMZ. Just last week Zimmerman announced that he was looking for an opponent to join him in the ring for a 3 round “celebrity” boxing match. He claims that any proceeds he receives from the fight, in the event that he wins, will be donated to charity. I don’t know that the NRA counts as a “charity” Georgie Porgie, but I guess you can sort that out with the IRS.

Yonkers, NY native Earl “DMX” Simmons, never one to back down from a challenge, and like most Black Americans possessed with a seething hatred of George Zimmerman and everything that he represents, promptly tossed his hat into the ring. He says he’s going to “beat the living fuck out him” and has promised to piss on Zimmerman’s face after he pummels him into submission.

Is it sad that this is the state of American race relations in the year 2014? Incredibly so. And it’s going to get ugly. The racists are going to be out in full force to support their poster boy. But hey, it’s happening, so we may as well root for the good guy. Or at least the guy representing the side that doesn’t condone racism and child murder. Close enough.

You’re gonna have to go out there and represent for Yonkers Earl. Plus, you’ve got Black America on your back, so failure is not an option.

Godspeed sir.

The Hot 97 Morning Show hosts don’t think this fight should happen. They are of the opinion that Zimmerman shouldn’t be indulged and treated like a celebrity when he’s nothing more than a cowardly murderer. They make some great points, but I think they’re in denial about one important fact: George Zimmerman is already a celebrity. He’s a celebrity amongst right-wing racist lunatics to whom he represents everything that is white and right in America.

This fight shouldn’t happen, but it’s very likely that it will, because this is how shit gets settled in this country. I’m of the opinion that if it’s going to happen, it might as well be X in that ring with him. I tried to ignore the initial reports about the match because I didn’t want to give that piece of shit any more attention than he was already getting. But now a Rapper is involved, and here we are. So fuck it, I’m gonna root for him rather than call him a “raging crackhead” and assume that he has no chance of winning. Regardless of who Zimmerman fights, there’s the chance he could win and end up being glorified. It’s a sad and fucked up situation all around, but I’d be lying to you if I said I didn’t want to see Zimmerman get his face bashed in.

UPDATE: X says that while he has agreed to fight Zimmerman, he’s still negotiating the purse. I don’t know, maybe we do need to call this whole thing off. It’s not supposed to be about the money X.

No more Bad Boy Records?

The home of “Take That, Take That” aka Bad Boy Records apparently is closing its doors and moving to Revolt! In the 90s it was all about Bad Boy Records with The Notorious BIG, 112, Lil Kim, Total, Faith Evans, Craig Mack, Mase, Loon, G-Dep, Carl Thomas and many more, but those days are long gone and the golden era of hip hop has truly faded.
Bad Boy Records (originally Bad Boy Entertainment) was a record label founded in 1993 by producer/rapper/entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Arista Records bought a 50% stake in Bad Boy in 1994. Following Clive Davis’s departure from its parent company, the label broke ties with Arista and BMG—moving to Universal Music Groups’ Universal Records in 2002. The change of distribution, however, did not increase productivity.
In 2005, Warner Music Group bought out the remainder of Bad Boy’s agreement with Universal Music Group, and the label began a distribution arrangement with WMG’s Atlantic Records. It then acquired an additional large minority stake in the label.
In September 2009, it was announced that Combs would be leaving Warner Music Group, inking a new deal with Universal Music Groups’s Interscope Records. Under the terms of the new deal, Combs rebooted the Bad Boy Records name and trademark, to be operated through Interscope. The previous Bad Boy catalog and roster, however, remains under the control of Warner Music.
These days, Bad Boy Records has been less than impressive with lackluster artists and groups like Day 26, Danity Kane, Cassie, Diddy-Dirty Money and many more seen here in the artist graveyard or as Bad Boy would say, their Rooster. Bad Boy has always pumped out hits, but NOT like the 90s and many artists were thrown to the waste side after one or two albums. It was said in many circles that Diddy didn’t want his artist’s light to shine brighter than his and that Bad Boy had many sign shady record deals, observant costs, leaving many artists now destitute with no outlet or label to produce them. Today there is less than a handful of artists making a buzz from Bad Boy like Janelle Monae and French Montana. The only problem is none of his current artists (Cassie, Janelle Monae or French Montana) have reached platinum or gold success.
In light of the two radio friendly artists, which is a sad comparison to yester-year its only obvious the next step is to close and dissolve the label.
Word on the street  is that Diddy has FIRED most employees and sent the rest to the REVOLT.
You may remember REVOLT is a new music network created by the mogul that is also rumored to be bumpy start and is still not in many cities yet.
As for French Montana and Janelle Monae, they’ll be transferred over to Interscope Records according to sources.
